Reputation

A number from 0 to 100 that says how much your airline trusts you, and exactly what moves it.

Reputation

Every pilot has a reputation with every airline, from 0 to 100. You start at 50.

Rank says how much you have flown. Reputation says how much you are trusted here. They are different numbers and they move for different reasons.

You can see yours at the top right of the contract board and of My contracts.

What moves it

Two things, and they measure different qualities.

Every flight — how you fly

Every accepted report moves it, whether or not you have a contract.

Your flight Change
score 90+, or landing softer than 300 fpm +0.5
score 75+, or softer than 500 fpm +0.25
score 60+, or softer than 700 fpm 0
anything worse −1.5

The score comes from your report. If there is no score, we use the landing rate instead.

A hand-typed report with no landing data is not punished. There is nothing to judge, and being marked down for a missing measurement would be unfair.

Every contract — whether you keep your word

What happened Change
completed +2, plus a little for a long or difficult chain
dropped −4
deadline missed −6

It falls faster than it rises

A good flight gains 0.5. A bad one loses 1.5 — three times as much.

This is deliberate, and we tested it. With symmetric numbers, a pilot flying carelessly still drifts up to 95 over a few hundred flights, and then the number means nothing.

With the current numbers, over 150 flights:

How you fly Where you end up
almost always well 99
well 73
however it goes 6

Trust is easier to lose than to earn. That is the whole point of it.

The ceiling matters

Reputation stops at 100 and never goes above it, and stops at 0 and never goes below.

The ceiling is the important one. Without it you could bank hundreds of points in a good year and then fly badly for six months at no cost. Reputation is something you keep up, not something you win once.

The floor exists so nobody is ever in a hole they cannot climb out of.

Levels

Level Name From Pay bonus
1 Probationary 0
2 Contracted 40 +3%
3 Preferred 55 +6%
4 Key partner 70 +10%
5 Flagship 85 +15%

The pay bonus applies to your contract pay.

You start at 50, which is level 2. There is room to fall as well as climb, and that is intended.

What it unlocks

What you are trusted to carry — one ladder, whether that is freight or people:

Reputation Freight Passengers
0 general, humanitarian scheduled service, repatriation
40 priority charter
55 oversized tour group
65 government sports team, government
75 hazmat
88 pharma VIP

The two columns share the same thresholds on purpose. A pilot at KLM and a pilot at FedEx climb by the same rule, so neither ladder is the "real" one.

At the starting 50, about two thirds of the board is open to you. The rest is earned.

It does not follow you

Reputation belongs to one airline. Move to another and you start at 50 with them — your hours and your rank come with you, your standing does not.

This is the real cost of switching, and it is the reason choosing an airline is a decision rather than decoration.

It also decides who pays for your type ratings — see Academy.

Where to see the detail

My contracts shows your current number, your level, and how far to the next one. The history table shows what each past contract did to it.

If something looks wrong, ask an administrator: every single change is logged with a reason, so any argument takes a minute rather than a week.
